CWE will be using Ceto 6 wave energy, solar power, battery storage, desalination and a control system in it's demonstration microgrid at Garden Island. But what else can go into a microgrid?

The obvious additions would be wind wind turbines either on shore or offshore but there would be many more that could be added depending on the location, the available resources and the demand.

Some that come to mind are:

    Geothermal
    Biomass
    Hydrogen fuel cells
    Tidal turbines
    Pumped hydro storage
    Mechanical energy storage
    Ocean thermal
    Hydro electric
    Methane capture and combustion
    Sustainable energy floors and footpaths
    Flywheel energy storage
    Deep ocean pressure energy storage

Of course diesel or gas is already being used as backup where required but if the renewable resources are good, the amount of carbon dioxide emissions are greatly reduced.

What if another wave energy company had a technology that was better suited to a certain marine location than Ceto 6, would CWE use it?

Why not, everything should be on the table IMHO.

I think a name change for CWE is inevitable.
