I had free school meals and had to sit on a separate table for the 'paupers'..... Oh, but I did love semolina with prunes in the middle, and banana custard. At my next school, I was the only 6th former to get free school meals and they were great, the dinner ladies used to feel sorry for me and always give me TWO dinners, cos I was a stick figure with the apetite of a horse. I thought I was lucky. Could not see the point of bringing in a potato and nuking it in the Sixth Form common room, when nice ladies cooked you three courses!
