Representative democracy is a historic relic. The professional politicians will fight tooth and nail to protect their fat rorts but in the end they are as useful as elevator drivers.
Think about it. Democracy is supposed to represent the will of the people in the House of Representatives.
A hundred years ago the locals would elect one of their number who would climb on a wagon, to the local Steam train station then onto the port for the boat trip to Melbourne then steam train to Canberra. We needed to be represented, we couldn’t express our will directly.
Now each of us can listen to debates, get data and directly vote from our homes.
