Melting Arctic ice (in the sea) does not cause a rise in sea levels, but will cause a change in salt concentrations in the sea. These changes are tipped to cause changes in major ocean currents. Apparently, changes in these currents is what is critical to major climate change. Arctic ice is melting rapidly. Last Ice Age ended only about 10,000 years ago. During the middle of the last ice age, you could walk from New Guinea to Oz, etc. Only 18,000 years ago, the sea level was some 130 m lower than it is now. Want to buy my boat mooring? How about my ocean front property? Either scenario, heating or cooling, we will need to have major energy supplies for survival. I suggest we look again at uranium and thorium.
