imagine if Labor had been in power before the GFC hit, we would have had a massive deficit.
No surplus for sure Labor would have spent even more on pink batts and the BER to stimulate the economy and deficit would have grown even more.
who is to say we wouldn't be in the same position as Greece, Italy, Ireland or even the US?
thank goodness we had that surplus built by the Howard and Costello governments. Isn't it obvious that you should have a little bit of money put away in case things go wrong?
