oh, I have to disagree with you there plough - it makes a big difference.
IMO - as far as liking or disliking wearing the stuff compared to what they wear --------
paul --------- compared to what they have to wear in the front line - mate - it will be like wearing shorts and sandals compared to wearing a plastic bag lined with sandpaper, that kills you with inbuilt chemicals.
Chalk and cheese.
Where the might be a difference (but, I will be surprised) - is in wear and tear - will the new fabrics cut the mustard - will they rip easily? too easily - etc.
That, as far as I know, isn't Alexium's problem - that will be the fabric itself - and, if there is a change necessary - then the fabric will change - and the chemical will not change (from what I heard) - if, however, there was a chemistry change - it would be very small.
In all honesty - having worn a lot of different fabrics - I really can't imagine a wear and tear problem.
The vast bulk of the large scale test is Army - not Marines -------- about half the army I think.
There are some marine tests - I am not sure if they have concluded or not - but, by the time the large scale runs out - all will be well sorted - and, from what I have heard will just run on out to the other half.
That is planned for trail end by July --------------- (BY July) - 'by' to me, could well mean 'before'.
I don't know when the Marines will push the button for rollout - but, when they do - it should all happen pretty fast - because, it will already be happening elsewhere and, I haven't heard any supply chain issues - and, they have had loads of time to prepare for this - and, it is dreadfully important to have it go as smooth as possible.
IMO - by the end of Cal 2016 - I would think a large percentage of the army would be done - and, I hope a large part of the Marines - either way -the full rollout will continue into 2017 and keep chugging.
