Can someone please tell me how people got the Ionic Industries shares? Please note I do not trade in shares regularly (I only own a small (dud) parcel of zoono shares) so I lack a lot of the general knowledge on this topic, that you folks have.
I am trying to wind up by father's estate and I have a few shares I am undecided on (I need to either sell them or transfer to my name) including the Ionic Industries shares. After doing some research I have decided it is definitely worth holding onto the Ionic shares (I have no idea about the other ones he holds - there has been a huge loss on those though there has been talk of them picking up).
I am struggling to understand how he came about having the shares (something to do with a takeover of the company SER) - did SER shareholders receive 1 Ionic share for every SER share and were these shares 'free'? What are the options about (expire 30/6/25) - how do they work? I received a letter from Computershare in which they have mentioned only the ordinary shares - not sure why they haven't included the options?
I need to advise my late father's accountant as he will be asking for details for when he does the final tax return for the estate. As I am keen to get the shares transferred to my name, at some point (hopefully when a good profit has been made) I will also need to know the original cost of the shares and I don't know what that is, given it looks like these shares were not paid for.
I have been on the company's website and have never been prompted to subscribe to their updates (how long do you have to stay on there for?).
Also if they are going to be listed on an overseas stock exchange, to sell the shares would I need to get in contact with a specific type of broker? I would prefer dealing with an online broker.
