Most people who invest in shares do worse than investing in a broad share index. If you are going to outperform a share index you need to ask yourself what is your edge. If you are going to take profits and buy back cheaper you need to ask yourself is this something you have the skill to do? People who do this have studied technical analysis - I studied it enough to come to the conclusion it’s a flawed approach but each to his own. My approach is to buy stocks to hold for the longer term. BlinkLab is what you call a story stock - no earnings but has the potential to be a multibagger if it pans out. It’s a higher risk type of investment, it’s not liquid ( the share price jumps about as it’s thinly traded) and you need to ride the share price bouncing around at least early on before it gets on the radar of institutions. In my opinion it’s a mugs game to try and profit in the short term from price fluctuations, other than buy more if it drops substantially. Evaluating whether to hold depends on ticking the milestones of starting and completing studies required to get market approval and at least replicating their original study then later translating into sales and Gross Profit then later into EBDITDA then later into net profits (though in this case it will likely get bought out before then). If they don’t do this your thesis is broken and you need to get out. Remember it’s hard to predict fluctuations in share price so that if you are buying and selling you may not be in the market when it runs. The basis for buying these kind of stocks is the asymmetrical risk - the chance of a multibagger - and you are jeopardising this potential return if you are in and out of the stock. There is a great book on investing style called The Art of Execution by Lee Freeman-Shor that’s worth a read.
