    Here's something to think about............

If 6.7 million shares were sold off market today at 50 cents for purely cash generating purposes then why did another 3.5 million shares change hands on-market today predominantly from 54 all the way down to 50 cents?

Could existing RBS clients who already held MTE shares have been tipped off? Were they told to start selling all the way down to 50 cents once the parcel showed up on the course of sales so they could make a few points? At the same time knowing they were allocated shares at 50 cents?

The facts are that MTE is a relatively illiquid stock but today it was very liquid albeit at lower levels.

Very strange indeed. Surely you guys must've noticed the higher than normal bids in the high 40's just before the market opened? To me that was the sign that something was about to happen. Sure enough, it did. Yes it opened down 5.5 cents at 52 on bigger than normal opening volume but it was trending up to 54 right up until the XT trade appeared at 10.32am then KABOOM!!!!!!!!!!

If anyone has IRESS (not Commsec IRESS), the trading platform where you pay around $1,200 pm where you can get details of the brokerage houses buying and selling I would be interested to know the net sellers, buyers etc.

It just doesn't make sense to me but I guess that's the market for you or is it?

On a side note and not really relevant to today's events with MTE, I remember in November 2010 when the departed CEO of NRW Holdings Jeff McGlinn unexpectedly sold off market his entire 20 million shares at about 8% less of the then market price. Quite extraordinary that once that off mkt transfer filtered through to the market the share price quickly retreated to around his sale price. It did bounce back after a week or so but the market then was trending up.
