I have made far more money going short over the years than long. If I had to pick just one method. I would choose shorting over going long, any day of the week. But shorting carries far more risk of course. When you go long you have limited risk and unlimited profit potential. Going short you have limited profit and unlimited risk. I find when stocks fall, they generally fall a lot harder then when they rise. I am after volatility. So that is why I prefer to short.
