I think it's important to understand that if Lynas is shutdown the ruling PKR coalition government will almost certainly lose the election given the loss of a direct 800 Malta jobs knocking into 2000 in the direct and indirect supply chain.. Thus Lynas have on their side:-
a) The PM (Dr M) and most of his government b) The local Malay population c) Japanese Industry and the Japanese Government d) The US given Lynas is a source of "critical minerals" which the US Department of Defense cannot source from China.
Against them they have the Chinese for reasons to do with controlling the Rare Earth supply chain in its entirety and their Malaysian mouthpiece which is the DAP or Chinese faction of the government.. The minister is a member of this faction..
In this context I can see why AL is confident they will find an acceptable pathway through this mess..
