I haven't held shares in an ASX company going into merger before, however in other markets a merger proposal is put forward to shareholders. This merger proposal will offer new options under a new symbol. The market will be live and SXPO will be available to trade during this time. You can sell at this time or wait for decision on merger to attain new options.
