the english language...well nearly..
strangely enough over 10,000 words after the 1066 norman invasion were adopted into the english language and 3/4 are still in use.
many are used without adaption. ie, chic, a la carte, art deco, au pair, avante gard, bon appetit, cul de sac ,
double entendre, eau de toilette. fiance, rondez vous, protege, petite, etc, etc..
