Quite possible someone wants board representation. If I was an instutution fronting up this sort of capital, I think I would buy more shares to gain seats on the board. It must have been a closely held CR, due to the speed and quietness of the whole deal. Did not seem to be any insider knowledge spiking the price before the CR, which makes me think there were not too many involved. All good news, IMHO.
