Think about it like this, you buy a car that a finance company had an interest in. The seller says don't worry I'll sort it out, everything will be ok. You go ahead and purchase the car, knowing there is potentially another party that has an over riding interest in it. You then go on to spend a lot of money on the car, unfortunately they seller didn't actually fix everything before the sale. The finance company repossess the car because they are the real owners. Do you think they're going to pay you for the work you did. I don't think so.
