Oops - sorry about the double post - it looked to be not working so I tried again.

I forgot to say - that where oil is currently being used in mining, agriculture etc etc for transport and other power - that can easily be replaced with electric power - a 70x70m grid of solar cells will supply an awful lot of power (about 25mwH per average day over a year, or about 1mW average around the clock with diesel generator backup for peak usage top-up, at much less cost than trucking petrol/diesel to a remote mine) so can easily be set up at a small minesite. They may need several banks at bigger minesites. A typical farm would likely only need about a 10x10m array to make far more than needed power.
