"Hello a co-alition member who believes in climate change."

I have never been able to understand why climate change was political. We are told its science, and yet the politicians have had a field day with it.

In any event, the people of Sydney are now paying for their folly in beleiving the rants of some of the climate-change adherents. Sydney's Warragamba dam is just about full, and very soon its excess water will be spilling out to sea, even as Sydney residents pay millions ($82m) each year under a contract initiated by Morris Iemma, to keep the desalination plant running. There has been agreement to lower its output, but surely it is just crazy to be using it at all. $82m per year was the figure quoted yesterday. And desal plants use lots of electricity.

How can a city in a 44 inch rainfall zone need desal, when desert cities in other parts of the world run happily without them? Its farcical.

Now that the La Nina 25/30 year cycle has returned we are hearing shrieks of silence from the various experts who predicted permanent droughts.

It was Rudd's pronouncements on the issue that put Tony Abbott in the liberal leadership. If he had kept his tongue, - he's not too good at that, - Malcolm would still be leader.
