I agree, with the starting post.
IF it split Retail <-> Wholesale, then shareholders will have holdings in both. Now perhaps some synergies are lost in cost...but potentially 'small' in comparison to revenues.
Now retail should run independantly, and with a goal to being market leader..(without influence of mgt who need to keep the wholesale view as well)..AND free to negotiate like every other carrier on the wholesale agreement. Now wouldn't they have the best experience to negotiate the best wholesale deal?
Turning to TLS WHOLESALE, it then has all the retail subscribers, all the reseller subscribers, and now able to pursue MORE subscribers because it no longer appear 'viable' or other resellers to try establish their own network hardware.
So then NBN proceeds, with TLS WHOLESALE having a share, yet still has it copper network etc and able to buy more wireless spectrum.
TLSW becomes a beneficiary from NBN subscribers, and from its own wholesaling...
So at the end of the decade, two big companies in their own right...
Possible?....
The share price always suffered only because of uncertainty not value...we now are getting decision and direction....and can no longer weigh us down.
