If retreating from world trade a touch is your beef, why not gripe about the Inflation Reduction Act, which is all about protectionism and insulation? Why not whine about the Chips Act which is also protectionist? These are policies that the current President implemented and are very substantial. I can't recall you complaining about either of them.

If you really had problems with this issue you'd have been sinking the boot into President Biden for the last couple of years, not waiting until Mr Trump is just about to take over and bemoaning the future of America because of policies that don't yet exist.
