I agree that our Defence Forces are acting more as Overseas Expeditionary Forces rather than as to their name suggests as being a Defence Force. Our involvement in the Iraq/Afghanistan/Syrian wars should have been none of our business but instead of
benefiting Australia's defence, it did the opposite by obliging us to take Muslim refugees & Economic Migrants* from these
war torn regions. If the US wants to fight wars overseas then it should cop the consequences like taking refugees & economic
migrants from these regions and rebuilding the bombing damage.

We can do humanitarian work in the region without Fighter Aircraft, Subs & Warships. In fact we can do it well with volunteers.
Just look at what volunteers did during the Brisbane floods!

I just had a bo-peep at the latest imported 8x8 MAN specialised trucks at about $400K a pop and the imported aircraft that will lift them to any global war region and one has to simply ask why? This money would be better spent by a Northern Perimeter
land based anti aircraft-anti missile defence system

IMO, our greatest national security threat is an economic collapse of Indonesia and millions of Indonesian boat arrivals monthly!

    * This has created a much bigger domestic security threat than the one we thought we were averting by riding shotgun for Uncle Sam in the Middle East.If we keep our noses out of overseas Muslim conflicts then we will have much less risk of Muslim militancy directed at us here at home.
