Metrics morph into Smetrics in the minds of some.

I remember the Great Metrics battles we have had here.

Harken back to the July of 2009 and before, all ye swabs ! when you dreamt of soon going down to the Porsche or BMW dealer and buying yerself a new motor as reward for your share picking enterprise.

The Value to you is what you can get for your shares in the market today

If you have a foresight which comes to pass, though the fantastical prognosticators abound in this Room, you may achieve more "Value" for your shares at a later date.

It is a mind game.

The BR Crew seems to be a bit quiet today, though Tuesday is usually Ramp day, like Pancake Tuesday, a Baking for the Noobs.

Did you see the Announcement torrent from the Santos today ? - the SA Cooper Basin JV supplying gas to GLNG - about a 1mtpa LNG worth each year for 15 years from 2014 on. And the other JV partners BPT and ORG carrying the announcements with gusto also. BPT was especially keen,always ready to gnaw any bone thrown its way. Oil parity pricing for Cooper gas - who could refuse ?

And did I notice a brave poster "leo43", a lion-hearted fellow who suggests, in this Room, that BPT would be a good snack for STO rather than the delectable ESG. Heresy, but I commend Leo for his rational thought.

The 2014 is the clue to the schedule of LNG projects. First GLNG then the other.

I expected STO to shoot over the $13 today but I guess the Market is not as bad at value setting than some think it is. The Approval must have been priced right in and no consternation about any of that hydraulic connectivity stuff and repressurisations. It is all GO , so the lower price than my anticipation is probably due to some weak form market efficiency and an inevitable CR coming soon.

Whenever price doesnt go my way I try to read into it and discern the reasons. Everything must be explicable ?

ESG sp has done OK , up a bit , but the sell side looks uncomfortably strong with about twice as much on offer.

The right hand that holds the ESG shares may need some superglue, the other hand knows what it is good at. Of course this sequence depends on one's handedness.


What is that Santos waiting for ? - get on with it ! before those other-bidders swoop in and take the dorado from your spear.
