My wife is hands off as I suspect most are. I try my best to provide reassurance, which sometimes turns me into a mini stock analyst selling the potential upside of our investments. She still shakes her head when I say we have so much tied up in a company that, in her words, "just makes a glue".
Luckily my wife trusts my strategy.......I just have to provide a weekly update on portfolio performance :)
