Interesting thread, I hope there isn't a takeover. I intend to resist the temptation to pay out the mortgage too (although only have to wait until sp hits 40c). I went all in with a gut feeling back in Jan 2010 and haven't looked back. As we're happy with our current lifestyle, this shareholding is staying put for one plan only - long-term retirement. Like, really long-term if me and/or hubby live for another 50 years. Yep, risk-taking female here. My husband has no time for the stock-market, he brings home the bacon the old-fashioned way, and leaves me at home chained to the kitchen sink, I mean looking after the finances ;-)
