    Central bankers do not determine the trend in interest rates, the market does. With bond yields already on the rise globally the RBA will be forced to follow the market and raise rates moving forward.

    Also any repeat of the GFC credit crunch and liquidity crisis would result in the cost of our banks offshore funding spiking higher which would be passed onto bank customers regardless of RBA market re-actions.

    This is especially topical given that the world’s most famous bond investor has just called the start of the bond bear market.
