i think we need to address the cost of houses in this country.
they are being traded like a stock or commodity by national and international investors. Add to that taxes, first home buyers grant (which favours imigrants) and constant media hype about house prices.
John Howard is responsible for the lack of housing in this rich country, it is a joke, his 'market forces' doctrin has now been proven to be a failure.
A house is a home, somewhere to live and should be affordable for someone in there 20's to start a healthy family. Like paul keating he will always see himself as hero that made this country successful.
People are stressed, working longer hours, more violent, more divorces, worse on the roads than ever. This is in part a filter down effect of the high cost of housing whether renting or a mortgage.
