What a great thread...great to read some of the stories behind some of the HC crew and the way they measure success.

Im currently doing postgrad International Economics at uni after working as a chef in the EU. My savings/investments have subsidised my studies but the time has come for a real job with a bub on the way....only problem, I can't stand economists!!! They pontificate, estimate and then make guesstimates often with vested interests.

I think the idea of need vs wants is an important consideration here as the longer I go without a job, the more I find myself thinking of returning to manual labour of which Ive done plenty in the past.
