I know this is a personal issue, but i feel as though i should share it considering the topic. Two very close people that i know (not prepared to release names/business dealings)have recently sold their business to a consortium for well over $30mil last yr prior to the GFC. To get around the tax man, they invested in a whole heaps of property/shares/overseas businesses. However, the GFC has taken its toll, albeit only slightly, but this has caused problems in their relationship, and the tension is evident for all those who know them.
Although they are now both retired, and are both under 45, it just goes to show, that money truly wont make you happy. It may make life easier, but it gives rise to further problems.
