    As I said in another post, anthropologists now believe that most modern humans are descended from small groups that left eastern Africa approx. 70,000 years ago. This has been established by world wide DNA tests. This was discussed in a recent TV series on Sky Channel that showed how humans spread out around the world.

    However, the majority of people living in sub equatorial Africa have a different lineage.

    Way back then, the seas were lower and it was relatively easy to skirt the coastlines of Arabia, India and Malaya and then cross relatively small water ways to northern Australia.

    Some experts have said that there were several waves of these travellers with the now departed full blood Tasmanian Aborigines being pushed south by later arrivals.
