People who are atheist seem to think that theists believe God is a man with a beard and white robes. God is not a human, not a thing, not even an experience. Atheists seem to believe that religious people are the authority on God, whereas a lot of non-religious theists probably have a better grasp on such matters (although woo-woo spiritualists give that a bad name sometimes).

Atheists stopped their enquiry at Sunday school - that's as far as they got. It's like stopping growing when you're 2 years old and thinking you know everyhting at that point. When they went home and prayed for something good to happen and it didn't, they gave up. Later on the atheists started to hate God because He didn't save them from the pain and suffering that all humans experience to greater or lesser degree. And when the athesit watched the evening news and saw horrific things happening to good people, it confirmed his view.

Atheists seem to think that because you experience God with the senses, that therefore He can't exist, He is imaginary. These same people say they love their spouses....love can't be measure either, so there's that argument gone.
