Post GFC I was told by a broker at JP Morgan not to buy ASX Ltd because Chi-X was a big threat.
I bought some anyway at $35 and sold a couple of years ago.
I have been watching ASX trade and I wonder what they are really worth now?
Brokers currently range $53.50 (Morgan Stanley) to $64.50 (Macquarie)
At a current price of $54.90, PE is 33.50, it still looks expensive
At a PE of 25-30 the price would be $41-$49
The longterm trend line (since listing) should the price hit the line, is approx. around the $50 mark.
I don't know anything about current management, but their shareholdings seem insubstantial for a $10,600,000,000 company
Are their any major competitive threats facing ASX?
