our 'leaders' had over 100 years to prepare for a pandemic - and, they hadn't a bloody thing ready
a couple of probably foreseeable points -
1. the collapse won't be instant - it might be rapid - but, more than likely over several years to decades - but, most certainly not instant.
2. there're risks of very rapid huge changes from a few other causes - so, the USA collapse - can take a ticket and get in line
a couple of examples - could be - a. the personal robot is cracked and is highly effective and b. if the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation keeps slowing and perhaps stops - the world will change probably very very rapidly - and, that's going to possibly make Russia and Ukraine look like a school fete - and, America collapsing - hmmmm - well - let see
