Yeah makes sense to me.
We often have a cultural version of things that colours how we see the world and in the west 'witchcraft' is usually limited to pointy hats, broomsticks, spells and curses and stuff along those lines.
The Biblical meanings are much deeper and akin to what you mentioned. Of course we always go for the other meaning, the one that involves the things that I don't do, that way I know who the witches are and can justify myself. :)
