Thanks for the post, a good summary. I have been using a more medium term trading strategy with CFDs which is presently working very well. Buying around pattern breakout levels and buying in smaller parcel sizes to slowly build up a position on the way up with incremental stops. Still fine tuning but I have 4:1 margin available with IG markets, the key is to use that wisely. Don't max it out just because you can otherwise a small swing stops you out.
One question, if you buy CFDs and make $1,000 profit, does the cfd provider hedge your trade to pay this amount? With shares the profit is from the market, not so sure with cfds
