No, many took the challenge because they genuinely believed they had psychic ability. But when their believed ability was put to objective testing it was found that their assumed ability was left wanting.
It's simply a case of testing.
Randi was not the only one testing psychic claims. Many researchers and investigators have done it....yet nothing has come of it in terms of evidence....just the usual anecdotes and claims.
Should genuine ability not be readily demonstrable?
