Agreed. It's simply inconceivable to me that Amazon couldn't develop what is just an algorithm inhouse. I don't know what the nature of the deal is with Amazon and the company's announcement certainly doesn't help one understand the nature of the business connection they have. This after all came out of a small time liquor delivery business, it's just doesn't add up to me. It's just delivery, it's not like it's software for a self driving car. I have added up the R&D line in GSW's quarterlies since the IPO. The have spent a whopping $242k on R&D since IPO and have intangible assets of only $16k. According to the prospectus only $640k has been spent on R&D so total tech spend is less than $900k. To me this does not indicate a very wide technology "moat"...
