The late 50,s and the 60's were the best years, wabbit. Life was really good. People were by & large genuine and straightforward, you could go out & not lock the house, leave your car unlocked with the key in the ignition, be asleep in your truck by the side of the road up north & someone going past would stop & make sure you were OK; nobody ever went past someone on the side of the road; no red tape or hassles -you did your work for wages or contract & got paid; beer was cheap,lol, 10c a middy. Even the cops were caring: had a wild mate, who, if not in custody by the end of the weekend, would get a visit from the cops to make sure he was OK. lol.
Life was good! And from my perspective, it started changing & deteriorating from 1972 onwards..........
Hey,Australia is still the best country in the world, but not as good as it used to be. Same country, but the people are changing. Cheers GZ
