    Your statement is far too broad, which makes it completely wrong. You can't compare between the rich and poor in different countries and make that statement. As an example, the poor in some countries will be much healthier than the rich. Why? They still work the land, grow their own food, and possibly die younger (due to reduced access to quality health care as an example) this reducing the incidence of cancers. In another country, the poor may live in slums, have no ability to grow their own food, subsist on cheap highly processed food, and suffer from chronic malnutrition. As such it is far more informative to compare incidence/mortality from cancer across the population of a single country. Of course you can then break the stats down even further if you want to.

    An example of a study from the USA that clearly demonstrates how your statement is patently false, depending on where/when you gather your data:
