Its interesting that back in 2011 with COPPER around US$4.50 lb the AUD was stronger than the USD and we were actually only getting around AU $4.10 lb, with COPPER now at US $3.50 but the AUD much weaker than back then we're actually getting AU$ 4.70 lb now or around 15% more than the 2011 peak..

The exchange rate has a large influence on outcomes and always needs to be watched, currently the commodity increases have kept ahead of a strengthening AUD but not by a lot, strong commodities usually lead to a strong AUD.
