2 years ago, when I didn't know enough about the state of quantum tech, I thought the granting of the 12CQ patent and the surge to $3 was all it would require for it to keep going up every week. Those heady covid days with spare cash and next to no interest rates. But I have since learnt quite a bit. Most of what I know today about developing deep tech is after following what AXE does.
In the real world I have missed getting in at the ground floor of a major shift in technology. The quantum shift is another opportunity. In the semi-real bubble world, quantum information theory and how it will get used is still in the hands of a few giant corporations, a few niche players, who have those giant chandelier quantum computers housed in cryogenic rooms. What happens when quantum capabilities get put in a chip that can be operated at temps that most normal everyday businesses live and function in? That's what AXE has to look at and work towards. Pioneering work has no road map at all. Which is why Mo has a challenging task of educating potential users. I used to work designing data systems for businesses. Even to produce anything useful with well established software, I had to talk to the end users and figure out what they wanted the tech to do. With a quantum processing unit QPU and its associated algorithms, Mo would have to talk to organisations who might want to use it, then see if the 12CQ can be designed a particular way to deliver the computations needed. Apart from this boring back and forth, there's the work in the lab to push the boundaries of coherence times, explore ways to use the data storage properties of these qubits....which in turn introduces more possibilities. A work in progress. Slow and tedious.
I'm not holding my breath for any update that's going to cause the sp to sky rocket...not unless one day, 2 to 3 years from now, TSMC starts churning out 12CQs? Who knows. All my opinions and guesswork.
