Hi Phooey - I think it works as follows:
    - University pays/sponsors someone to do a PHD (e.g. Mohammad Choucair and Nafardi Ballint) who happen to invent something as part of their PHD.
    - As part of the PHD deal and having sponsored the research, the university gets to apply for the patent and be the patent owner. The inventors, Choucair and Ballint get the exclusive licence to commercially exploit the patent. I'd imagine that the uni might be entitled to a small royalty.
    - As part of joining Archer, Mo would have assigned his licence exclusively to Archer to exploit the patent. Balint may have also exclusively licensed Archer too, with a royalty arrangement.
So.. Uni of Sydney is the patent holder, Mo and Naf are the inventors and Archer has the exclusive right to use and exploit the patent. There's some other funky names on some of the parents. I think these are just the patent attorneys engaged by Archer to fill/lodge the applications and deal with the patent offices.
