This thread turned into politics, and I was hoping to discuss the subject .

Almost everything we see today in historic texts are somehow connected to natural phenomenon and Planet earth.

Here is summery of my research:

About 2 million years ago, the land between the Sedom Lagoon (which connected to the Mediterranean through the Jezreel Valley) rose incredibly high, leading to the creation of this landlocked lake. As tectonic plates shifted, the floor of the valley shifted accordingly; at the same time, the arid desert climate led to the lake evaporating. As the years passed, the lake shrank and about 7,000 years ago, this resulted in what we know today as Dead Sea. Researchers consider that the concept of a land made holy by being the "earthly dwelling of the God of Israel" was present in Judaism at the latest by the time of Zechariah (6th century BCE). Jews commonly refer to the Land of Israel as "The Holy Land”.

The famous Old Testament story of Lot’s wife - who disobeyed God’s command not to look back and was then turned into a pillar of salt - is also believed to have taken place here. Fun fact: strange formations of salt, which resemble pillars, can be seen in the south-eastern corner of the sea, and have been nicknamed ‘Lot’s Wife’ by tour guides!The Sedom Lagoon was a marine tongue of the Mediterranean Sea into the tectonic depression of the Dead Sea Rift during the Pliocene, formed by an ingression of the Mediterranean Sea water into the Dead Sea Rift .Geologies 12-1311 …. @Liar I have only now, after living in Anglo countries for most of my life, remembered something from my religion lessons in Primary and High School in Austria - in the German translation of 'Promised Land', Israel is spoken of as the land for the Israelites, but it is never called the 'Promised' but 'Praised Land' (das gelobte Land) - so I do wonder how many words in the Bible have been changed over the years to suit and create a sort of made-to-measure Bible to fit concepts/agendas of the time?
It is known that many translations of the Bible exist and that many concept from ancient times are difficult to translate into modern usage and languages.
