This thread turned into politics, and I was hoping to discuss the subject .

Almost everything we see today in historic texts are somehow connected to natural phenomenon and Planet earth.

Here is summery of my research:

About 2 million years ago, the land between the Sedom Lagoon (which connected to the Mediterranean through the Jezreel Valley) rose incredibly high, leading to the creation of this landlocked lake. As tectonic plates shifted, the floor of the valley shifted accordingly; at the same time, the arid desert climate led to the lake evaporating. As the years passed, the lake shrank and about 7,000 years ago, this resulted in what we know today as Dead Sea. Researchers consider that the concept of a land made holy by being the "earthly dwelling of the God of Israel" was present in Judaism at the latest by the time of Zechariah (6th century BCE). Jews commonly refer to the Land of Israel as "The Holy Land”.

This can go back to the time of “Zechariah”,

The famous Old Testament story of Lot’s wife - who disobeyed God’s command not to look back and was then turned into a pillar of salt - is also believed to have taken place here. It was a very polite post and for that I thank you and disagreeing with me is a good thing, but I don't grasp the point you are making. Please forgive me I'm a bit thick, so if you could unpack your point a bit more I would be grateful.

Now I'm not sure that any place is more holy than another, but Israel has been deeply significant for the 5 Judaic religions that we know of, plus Islam and the Baha'i Faith. That's 7 of the 9 major religions that we know of.

It is also in the general area which gave birth to modern agriculture and animal husbandry, the city state and political and social systems we have greatly expanded upon today.

So Holy Land or not, there is no other place on earth that can lay claim to such foundational patterns of thought and social organisation.
