G'day Doc. If we are to believe the official ASX anns to date, after the initial drilling was completed,(see BPT ann 18/10/2102), yes, we definitely have gas, well, at least 1300 metres of "gas saturated" play, with "Halifax-1 having the thickest R.E.M. sections, 460 metres, when compared to any other Napamerri Trough well drilled to date. The Patchawarra Formation is 490 metres thick."
And yes, we are now waiting to see if they can recover that in a commercial way. Beach did it successfully in 218 with Encounter and Holdfast-1. Halifax-1 is bigger and in addition, has been fracked through 14 different sections.
Logically, Halifax-1 results, which we should start hearing about from next week onwards, you would think would at least equal those other wells, as Reg Nelson also stated that "there is no reason why 855 should not replicate 218 with 300TCF of GIIP.
Beach has already booked those wells as 2C contingent resources, well on the way to being 2P, with ICN having the added benefit of having a signed GSA which is an added bonus to getting that upgrade. And as we also know STO has already started to sell its shale gas from the Patchawarra Formation in Moomba-191.
So, why shouldn't we expect at least a commercial flow from Halifax-1, IF there is ANY logic at all in this business?
