THE STEPS TO BE BORN AGAIN
1. Return to the mind of a child.
This is done as said by rewiring your brain by practice: eg. don't kill, don't steal, don't lie, don't commit adultery. Jesus said in an indirect way but it is in the NT. When He said love thy enemies it is the opposite of hate but a positive action. Not to "sin" is not an action its an inaction which doesn't change anything. You need to take opposite action.
2. Meditation.
This is an important technique to quiet the mind; vipassana was recommended by the Buddha . When you have settled the mind and made enough progress to have the mind of a child you will be born again. There is no guesswork you will get the vision as described in Matt 3: 16. It all happens within your mind. The interpretation of Matt 3: 16 of Jesus walking up on the bank is an incorrect understanding of the text, the vision is not external. When it says "went up straightaway out of the water" the meaning is being lifted from under the water to above the water. At that time Jesus's eyes would have been shut and he saw the vision - the vision that verifies you have been born again.
