It is like feeling puppy love for the first time. Everyone knows they have done some evil over the course of their lives so it is a relief to feel that pressure gone if you truly believe it. Maybe you said something nasty to Kelly once in school. Or you insulted someone when you felt bad. Likely something worse. Over the long term that memory may fade but it still gives those people who have done a fair amount evil or have experienced evil a good feeling so they stick with it.

The reality is that we are created by a god, and I doubt he/it cares about much of us at all. It is like imagining Scott Morrison doing a study about how vaccines impact a populace and we are in that simulation. Our simulation/universe is probably more important than that but I still throw that out there to help convert people to actual reality.

There is a creator but as to its goals and desires, nobody I know, knows. If you know and it isn't based on some 2000+ year old crap then tell us all!

I too have experienced, I believe, the same feeling. A sort of sublime form of love not directed toward another person but a feeling from within, a feeling of warmth and safety and security.
