Generally it seems to be a truism that "When a Man Stops Believing in God, he doesn't then believe in nothing; he believes anything."
Whether you accept one persons arbitrary, convenient and probably serving to teh argument he intends to make definition of religion is your choice...
However dont expect everyone else to accept that definition for the purposes of the argument you intend to make...
