What is Russia, who is Mr Putin?

I have been reading a lot of comments re current events in Ukraine. Lots of them are naive, lots are just the wrong perception. It would be nearly impossible for you guys to understand the reasons behind the current events. Most of you see the current events unveiling as being raised in Australia, UK, USA, etc you can not possibly understand the Russian mentality. Russians cannot understand yours. I am fortunate or misfortunate to be close to both worlds. I have been living in Australia for over 30 years, but I was born and grew up in USSR. Russian is my mother tongue. In fact I could not speak English at the time I arrived to our OZ Land. I served in USSR army for two years. That was not a choice. That was a compulsory national service. One of the memories, I vividly recall how we practised shooting at the shooting range. The targets were made of NATO soldiers silhouettes.

Let's leave our favourite tread WPL 30 for SP/oil etc discussions and discuss the politics/history and anything else off topic in this treat. That's if anyone is keen to continue. Just the last comment. Many counties have criminal organisations called mafia or mob. There is only one country in the world where the mob owns their own country and it's Russia.
