In my view, Kabila is there to stay, 3rd, 4th, 5th term (who cares), that's the way things work there, its the rule of the jungle, a herd mentality so to speak and JK is the pride leader, dominant male. Not a student of DRC body politic, but the resistance groups have died down, the neighbours who normally throw their rubbish over the fence are working off their own hangovers.
BM summed it up in the Syd mining presentation speech, in that DRC living standards, health, etc have stabilised and are growing. Many of the locals there are survivors of previous genocide, so from their POV they see stability, the health of their families, a job as paramount.
Aside from the corruption which is endemic there and all round the continent (don't be fooled it happens here - refer ICAC NSW and QLD), things have been stable under Kabila. As long as there is room in the trough for all the little piggies to share, this will remain so.
Jgunter has it to a tee, the discount rate on the SP with the guests that are staying at the Tiger Falls Hilton....
Future guests being turned away are critical to future success. We have to unfortunately rely on the guests that are currently staying. Normally its a good indication when important guests arrive with their Trucks early on just before school holidays begin and the summer season starts.
I'm hoping these new guests bring other opportunities with them so to speak, liking mining licenses, and memberships to new hotel grounds for the good of the hotel and existing guests.
