There already exists a voice to parliament. Anyone can have one, and I believe there already are several indigenous voices in our parlaiment. I really don't understand why we need to single out a particlar race in our constitution, it seems... racist.
History has always been written by the victors and I believe we, as modern Australians have recognised that some horrible things were done to indigenous peoples thoughout our history. We have had our "sorry" day, and I think we all genuinely meant it. We no longer have institutional racism in our legislation and haven't had it for decades and I think Indigenous peoples have more opportunity than ever.
Part of healing requires the agrieved to accept an apology and forgive, otherwise, you're just picking at old scabs and then never heal.
