Most Aboriginal people can't read and write in their own language BUT place names on signs in that language is a good idea. I mean really, who is going to read these signs as you suggest? Tokenism - with more division and confusion. More unnecessary expenditure on the pretext of respect.
They say the dual names on signs has been of benefit in Wales. Maybe so; BUT in Wales the whole population speaks Welsh and the visitors speak English. Australia and NZ are totally different animals.
But the Doc from the Rock says it's the right thing to do; jive with the vibe. I say let's Advance Australia as a whole not this 'who's on first' comedy routine. Who came first sounds like another argument between sexual partners
In a previous life I thought it a good idea. The voice changed that; the voice changes EVERYTHING.
